Most all the money made in profit at Walmart (among a hundred other enterprises) goes to a few people, ... in the case of WM, a family who are among the most wealthy on the world and are so rich they don’t even know the money is coming in. CEO’s and executives, at major world corporations, or even ordinary big city businesses , can make 300 X what their line workers make, and more in stock options and funded retirement. Wealth disparity is real and disturbing. I watched a middle aged woman employee at a big box store take a baggie of change to the counter for some pizza for lunch. She looked squashed. Two questions:
(1). Is there any duty, in a capitalist society, to correct this massive, overarching disparity?
(2). Is the process of correcting the disparity a potential wellspring of business opportunity?
Think about this as talked about, by a real business owner, with real world experience. Click this BBC story.
