The details of Trumps corruption, criminal acts and obstruction have been laid out a thousand times, but here they are again: Congress authorized and appropriated and ordered military aid to Ukraine, $391 million. Ukraine is a democratic country and our loyal ally. Congress ordered this money to support Ukraine military actions, because they are in an armed conflict with Russia. Their land is being invaded. Ukrainians are and WERE dying in battle.
Trump was already sending out his bootlickers, lawyers and toadies, long before the Summer of 2019, to Ukraine, to try and set up something that could be used to (a) hurt Biden and (b) hurt Ukraine, because he has always thought they hurt him in the election and supported Clinton. That, of course, has been debunked as much as the story of the Easter Bunny.
But when the military aid issue arose, Trump saw the opportunity to muscle the Ukraine President. Trump withheld that money in a clear violation — an illegal violation — of Congress’ express orders. He did so NOT because he had foreign policy disagreement or differing positions, or security concerns...NO! Trump did this as part of a MONTHS-LONG scam designed to extort from Ukraine’s president what he called “a favor” in return for the military aid. He wanted to benefit HIMSELF.
Nothing to do with the USA, or our security interests. Nothing to do with foreign policy. No. What Trump was extorting for was to get the Ukrainian President ANNOUNCE a Biden investigation on CNN. Trump didn't care if they investigated or what they did. He wanted a CNN headline and a political talking point, to cripple his primary 2020 opponent. — an announcement of an investigation into groundless accusations against former Vice President Joe Biden that he believed would benefit HIM in winning reelection in 2020.
