Saying Trump is an empty suit on the issues, and should be discounted as a "real" candidate is probably too dismissive. You are thinking of Rubio, Huckabee and Carson. I have a BBA from Univ of Miami. I trained with these 'captains of industry', who aspired to be a Donald someday. (He wasn't around). What we learned, and it is true, is that to be the guy in charge, you need the vision, people skills, market knowledge, basic skills in banking, insurance, law-- and beyond that, you HIRE the engineers and technical people...and the experts, to advise you. That is all that Trump needs to do. Yes, he needs to be able to articulate his vision on the issues, but he really just needs to tell us WHO he will be looking to for technical and expert advice. Then, everyone would feel better. I don't know anything about his TV show ; never saw it. I don't know anything about his businesses; that stuff is of no interest to me. But, I do know that he can run an enterprise, using the methodology noted above.
Like it or not, he's a player.
