THE SOLUTION TO 90% OF THE POLICE/CITIZEN INCIDENTS

WE CAN EASILY AND QUICKLY RESOLVE AND PREVENT EVENTS LIKE FERGUSON.

I have a solution for about 80 to 90% of the police and citizen interaction problems in this country.

The solution will ABSOLUTELY resolve, immediately, and completely, situations involving EVERYTHING from minor discourtesy complaints to horrific situations like the Ferguson shooting.

The solution is simple, fully available RIGHT NOW and inexpensive. Not only all that, but it has a proven track record. Police departments which have begun using them have experienced huge decreases in misconduct complaints, citizen distrust, property protection, police administration and tax money spent in relation to all of that.

The solution is that every patrol officer, at all times on duty, wear a small video / sound recorder. The cost of the equipment and memory is negligible. I don't like this. But i see that it is the solution.

Then, we will eliminate the witness/ police bias. The entire episode can be examined. The police will know their actions are being recorded, and the public they deal with will too. There wouldn't be all the back and forth about Ferguson at all, if the incident, start to finish, were reviewable.

It's a tough thing, in some ways. But it is better than what is going on. Do it now. And while we are at it, all patrol officers should carry and use non lethal tasers. Ferguson was, in some ways, a textbook taser situation.
