How about a story that I was a participant in, if you think these are hoaxes? When I was a State Trooper, in the Florida Keys, around 1974, I was called to a fight and disturbance on a bridge, on a fishing catwalk. When I arrived, two men were fighting. The crowd was shouting. I broke through, pulled out my night-stick (we had no nearby backups, no tasers, mace was in a stupid spray-everything can) and were not supposed to shoot people for fighting)-- and we were not yet heroes with parades and stuff-- so, anyway, the crowd helped me pull them apart. The fight was an attack by one man on a Cuban guy who spoke no English. He was using newborn puppies as bait, to fish for sharks.
He would hook and secure them with huge tri-hooks, and alive, cast them into the water. I arrested him and charged him and took him to jail. I was blinded with my rage, but I left him alone, although the handcuffs may have been a little tight, during the 20 mile ride to the jail. I think he was fined $150. Have things changed much? (this picture is what it looked like, but is not a picture--we had no phones with cameras)
