Hagel opposed the IRAQ invasion, calling it a monumental foreign policy blunder. McCain thought it was an OK idea, showing he was WRONG, misled and later, stubborn and stupid. Hagel was NOT going to support someone who thought Iraq was OK. He knew it was a disaster based on lies and called it. ANOTHER reason Hagel shifted to Obama in 2008 was patriotic necessity. the senile old fuck, McCain, had chosen a complete buffoon (Palin) as a running mate. no matter your party, we could not allow the good chance Palin would, by some default, assume the most powerful office on the planet. we couldn't have her texting her "prayer warriors" for advice , during crisis. there was nothing else to do. even if McCain would have been passable, and he likely would have, the danger presented by a wholly incompetent second in line was too much. McCain can be bitter, resentful and talk about Hagel, but he is full of crap.
