I don’t really think that the Trump supporters I am talking about read or have serious familiarity with the Constitution. That picture is from a Trump Rally ... it is what it is. They are who they are.
There’s certainly a swath of citizens who think Trump is doing a good job because he is feeding their self interest. Bankers, stock brokers and real estate magnates as well as industrialists and anti-union factions, right wing law-enforcement advocates, fascists, authoritarians, all think he’s doing a great job. Also, people who are filling their pockets with money based on his actions and proposals are doing well and probably want it to continue. I suppose that’s fair.
But, these Trumpets blather about “don’t take away our guns”- “we love our bible and Jesus” but they don’t know where Crimea is - they do not understand the courts, banks, health care finance, infrastructure funding, military history—-most don’t even know if the Civil War was before or after WWI.
Nor do they understand the Soviet union break up, the science surrounding energy economics, epidemiology, or world events of the last 40 or 50 years.
They’re pretty much as portrayed in the picture I posted. Ignorant loud deplorable thugs who believe right wing talking points and don’t really have a working level of understanding of the three branches of our government or the history of our country.
There are doubtless exceptions to their level of ignorance, but not too many.
Certainly, Biden, in 40 years, has said a bunch of dumb stuff and has held positions that were ‘normal’ in times past, but are abhorrent today. Granted.
Biden is also viewed, across the isle, throughout the government, by his friends & family, and among 40 years of acquaintances, and worldwide, generally, as a good man, an ethical & loyal patriot, a fair legislator, a fiscal/social moderate and solid family man.
Trump is NONE of any of that and never will be. All of those things are the polar opposite of Trump. He has no real friends. He is thought of as a corrupt thug— and THAT is by his family, business associates, biographers and employees—- they all have come and then gone...even Bolton, Mattis, SCORES of people who have worked with him all say the same thing. He’s a reckless, uninformed loon.
To describe Trump as a champion of minorities requires that you suspend reality. The same people suggesting that, also believe Hillary is running a pedophile ring out of a pizza parlor. This “I have done more for the blacks than anybody except Lincoln..” that is a media joke and everyone who know anything about trump/Lincoln is laughing. And crying.
Trump is a self evident thug, & self absorbed, dumb, dysfunctional loon. All of this is documented daily in his public discourse, Twitter feed and ‘news conferences’—truly, when I listen to him carefully, it is painfully clear he is a sociopathic, uninformed, unintelligent goon. His public speaking is a morass of misstatements, stupidity, dull self interest and jumble bumble.
Trump is not committing snafus. He is an openly active corrupt, lying criminal. He doesn’t even hide it. He has turned the White House into a physical fortress. He has said he will not leave office if he loses. He has tried to suppress voting. He has tried to cast doubt on any election validity unless he wins. He has staffed the senior agency slots with stooges and unqualified, often corrupt, toadies & bootlickers. He gets his foreign policy advice from a loudmouth on FOX. He consults religious fanatics, instead of doctors-epidemiologists, for advice on coronavirus. It’s one outrage after another.
Trump has routinely disparaged decorated, career military officers and generals who, in turn have told all of us, out right, that he’s a dumb moron and that he will not attend or pay attention to his intelligence or other briefings. He will not listen. He will not read the materials provided to him daily.
Here is Trump, championing minorities-
It is clear to anyone consuming real news sources that Trump runs the country based on reckless whim and self interest. He is trying to impede and suppress voting in Fl, AZ, NC...and anywhere he thinks it is turning into a ‘toss up”. He has lied thousands of times to the American people about important things. Just last week, he said the Republicans are putting the finishing touches on a health care bill that will be ready by the end of the month. Really? He literally just made that up, out of thin air. The Republicans have never had a healthcare bill of any kind and have been against socialized healthcare since they fought Medicare and Social Security throughout the 20th century. I mean he just makes the stuff up without any factual basis at all. He disparaged Navajo code talker‘s. Last year he embarrassingly blathered, during the Code Talkers’ ceremony, about Pocahontas while the code talkers were receiving awards - and he turned the whole thing into an embarrassing joke. In Helsinki he openly stated he disbelieved his professional, worldwide —thousands of employees and intelligence staff, intel system and believed Putin rather, than his Intel community. He was unequivocal. Just 10 days ago he told suburban homeowners that he would make sure poor people and minorities didn’t move into their neighborhoods and ruin their lifestyles. He views the social unrest in the cities of the United States as a problem —-NOT of racial or economic disparity, but a problem to be cured by police cracking down MORE.
Under the guise of protecting federal buildings he sent federal enforcement agencies into protest hotspots and the goons start beating and arresting peaceful veterans and moms. This is all on video. No one has to lie or make crazy shit up about Trump. He IS crazy shit, personified. This is all in the last month. He is open and clear about it.
Typical of the way Trump plays this game is to give his salary back to the country, as if he is really doing something meaningful, and then after he has given back $400,000 of salary, he profits by scamming $130 million to his country clubs and properties by billing the Secret Service and renting them rooms and golf carts and basically just gaslighting and scamming the American taxpayer.
He destroyed the careers of foreign service officers and military officers who did nothing more than appear , as commanded, in front of Congress and told the truth.
His administration, from inauguration forward, has been a mass of chaos, recklessness, whim and dysfunction which has caused a turnover unlike anything we have ever seen.
Republican staunch heroes like Bolton and Kelly and Mattis to mention just a few —of scores of people, have all come and gone after they find out what an idiot and intractable moron he is.
He has undermined and caused serious deterioration of everything he touches in Washington but most particularly the institutions which provide the structure under which we exercise our democratic rights and responsibilities. This is a shame because there are problems with the FBI and CIA and the state department that need to be addressed obviously. He is not doing anything constructive and he’s just denigrating them and rotting them with his cancerous dysfunction.
