Senator Chuck Hagel is perfect for the Secretary of Defense job. We are lucky we have him there, ready to take the job. Centrist Republican. Dedicated to the job, not a party. Hagel rightly saw and stated that Iraq was a horrible mistake early on. Some don't like that. Hagel doesn't want to open a volley on Iran, he wants to deal with them non-lethally, while it is still possible. He doesn't think that Israel is without its own brand of terrorism against Palestine and hasn't forgotten that their land was taken from them, thus there is more to it than just the Jewish side. Hagel will be sober, exhaustive and reluctant to commit (thus to maim and kill) our young people without all other possible remedies having failed. Army enlisted. Volunteer and line soldier, injured decorated in Vietnam. Smart. No BS. Understands Military, CARES about military and relationships w DC. The only opponents are hard line Israel fanatics and people who want another war, this time with Iran. Hagel will keep it on course. It is a perfect nomination for the President and the Military.
