THE INCREDIBLE UNINFORMED NUMBERS AMONG GOP VOTERS

(Stats assembled on “HardBall” -- )

There are legitimate fiscal and social conservatives, etc., in the GOP. Deeper thinkers and aware of the realities of the economy and the world.

But the Current GOP has left them.

Can these interloping TeaBaggers hurt us? Of course - !! - when you are this uninformed and know this little about the world around you, you cannot be an effective voter.

The party has been co-opted by a swatch of people who don't have the brains to understand a comic book. They search for simple answers, to complicated issues, using incorrect information, and invoking God to season the whole ignorant mess..

3 of 5 GOP voters believe Obama was born in another country; They have no basis for this from any legitimate source. Facts are unimportant.

4 of 5 think Obama is Muslim or don’t know; Either not caring or not interested in the facts. These same people cannot articulate detailed differences between the Muslim and Christian sects

66%, or 2/3 !! think there actually WERE WMD’s in Iraq when our troops arrived & worse that Saddam Hussein had some connection with 9-11. Completely ignoring all the facts. They want to believe the government told the truth and did the right thing. They do not want any facts that challenge that.

60% think global warming is a fraud, ignoring all the evidence, physical and scientific. The ice caps melt and they shrug.

Huge numbers look at the pictures of the thousands of galaxies, billions of miles away, all with solar systems and planetary systems, and they insist the earth is 6000 years old. They choose to somehow ignore what is clear, obvious, proven and rudimentary science.

These people are scary DUMB and they WANT it that way. What do they read and listen to?  The level of unawareness about the USA, the world, foreign policy, geography, and our economy are shocking at the far right.

We must improve education and get FOX NEWS off the air. We are breeding a huge population of dangerously ignorant voters.
