WELL YEAH...BUT WHAT ABOUT BILLY JEAN?

OF 100 US CITIZENS:

21% never graduate from high school

37% of HS "grads" have never actually read a novel.

19% of those who DO graduate are functionally illiterate

21% who actually CAN READ are at the 4th grade level

50% think Civil War & War of 1812 occurred before the Revolutionary War

38% believe god created humans w a magic trick,  less than 10,000 years ago.

64% think there is a mysterious MALE, existing somehow in the sky somewhere, listening to billions of people praying & singing, and routinely "changing his mind" about this and that, depending on prayer sincerity.

HE also constantly threatens access to an unexplained location ("Heaven"), as a method of compliance enforcement.

35-45% know that Michael Jackson wrote "Beat It" and "Billy Jean", but ...

65% could not say what the "Bill of Rights" actually is.
