GRACE AND MERCY AT THE BORDER

Man, I wish I had thought of that stern Border guard, land-WALL thing"

"this money will not last forever, but these mountains will always be here"- Chief Little Dog, during treaty "talks" as the immigrant US Government stole his land and land use rights.

When one refers to God's Commandments, as set out in the stories of the Old Testament in the Jewish Torah, or the Christian Old Testament, (same thing) , then you are speaking of Do Not Murder, Do Not Steal, Do Not Covet-- etc., etc. These are the basic rules, allowing mankind to live in relative harmony and to understand what behavior will produce the least conflict and the highest degree of orderly societal functioning. They are really in three groups, these "10 Commandments" - but that is another discussion.

These basic rules are part of every human religious/ societal thought process and evolution. They are, in their essence, part of Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, TAOism, Confucism, Native American rules of conduct, or any-"ism. When "Moses came down with the tablets" this was not a surprise, nor was it new...but these rules are ubiquitous and, admittedly useful- if you are to be happy with yourself.

As the newer creatures on the planet, we are blessed, or cursed, with high self awareness. We want to be happy with ourselves, but we are also greedy and self centered. We know we exist. We take what is not ours-- not to survive, but to possess. We feel badly about it. We feel guilt. We know we will die.

Ummmm.... No. i did not look at all like this Rick, Sarah and the idiot brigade

All of the "thou shalt" stuff is part of the King James rewrite, to make European clergy and royalty happy, to take sex and profanity and "perversion" out of the Bible and finally, to leave people with some idea that a Palestinian Jew from 2000 years ago speaks like Queen Victoria and looks like a 60's anglo rock star, who thought we should love each other as we love ourselves.

Typical Palestinian Jew of 2000 years ago. Oooops.

One can currently see this outpouring of love from Rick Perry, et al., who rant and rave about killing sperm, eggs and zygotes, and love them as God said-- but who want to send troops to the Southern border, to intercept little children, from Central & South America, and send them the Hell back...even if it means death. Such love is not written of in the Bible, but ask your nearest Republican, and they will explain it to you.
I pray, in grace, and in love, that all you little brown children get the Hell back where you came from.

As an added spice, this outpouring of love from GOP Border protectors is an event in the course of other events, primarily caused by our nonsensical "war on drugs", a complete silly failure, which hasn't worked at all, except that multifarious government agencies have been created to serve as employers, an entire industry has built up around our foolishness, and now it is part of our lives. But it has criminalized and decimated many Central and South American countries, and now, between that and the disparity of economic opportunity, we sewed the wind, and now reap the whirlwind at our borders.

Doubtless, many have not read this far, which is fine. I am not able to either readily explain why 65% of our populace are idiots, nor do anything about it. My time here will soon be done. What is carried on is what the TAO flows with. I was impressed with the words (words i learned yesterday) of an old Native American War Chief, as the government stole his land, in treaties that would never be honored and which his people didn't really understand-- and didn't really have a choice in--he said "this money will not last forever, but these mountains will always be here"- we belong to them.

I don't believe that the fundamentalists agree that they're going to die, they have prostituted the concept of eternity to fit their fear. To accept that we all will die, you have to make peace with your place in the universe. The Native american culture, they respect their place in the universe, in eternity, and in nature. They are so much wiser than the rest of us. If we did, we wouldn't be greeting busloads of refugee children with loaded AR15s. I'm going to climb off my soap box, now.
