VIETNAM, NOT SO LONG AGO

VIETNAM, NOT SO LONG AGO

Sorry to put a damper on our moral shock and aversion to chemical weapons on civilians, but I spent a delightful year on the Cua Viet River, in and about Quang Tri Province, Vietnam, (1968 USMC) and, even though I was just 18, I remember things quite well. Ummmm...sorry boys and girls, but we routinely, patriotically, Napalmed the shit out of and defoliated and Agent Oranged  the bejesus  out of a huge chunk of the country, and I ASSURE you we were pretty much unconcerned with who was beneath the chemicals, the burning and the flash or who got burned or cancer or how old they were. Not that this makes Assad OK, but .....I choke when Obama says this is a red line drawn by the world community in or around 1917. Remember that Assad used Napalm. Just like we did. Not long ago.
