What ARE the best moments of life?

About 20 years ago, in the late Fall, on a cold, slate-grey afternoon, I sat alone in my house, looking out the window, into the woods. The wind was cold and light. The leaves wiggled and fluttered-- they were sparse and Fall colored, but without brightness.

The sky was low and moving cold. It was warm in the house. The room was darker paneled and the light that was on made it seem secret and safe. There was silence. I was intermittently reading a really good book, which took me into Central Europe, into Prague. I looked out over the forest, thought about Prague, drank in the wonderful late fall afternoon...it was so peaceful.

More than that. It was one of the best moments of my life. I am absolutely sure I did not fairly describe it.
