TEA PARTY IMBECILES AND THE ABRAHAMIC RELIGIONS

I recently responded to a posting and, my response was so brilliant, I snagged it for you Blog-a-teers.

Hate to push my own stuff, but when you are on, you are on.

The Bible is but one book of the Abrahamic traditions/religions, all basically the same, flowing from Abraham, Judaism, Christianity, Islam...they are all rooted in the same people and stories and tenets. The same message flows from Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammed. For that matter, the same basic message flows from Buddha, Krishna and innumerable others. There is nothing particularly revealing about the Bible that wasn't recycled from other myths and stories. I also notice that the TP doesn't live any (that I can see--look at Bachman inter alia) of the New Testament tenets, such as acceptance, tolerance, interracial, inter-societal, and international cooperation and peace, providing food and visitation for the hungry, sick and those in prison, feeding the masses, cooperating with the Samaritans, being kind to the prostitutes and outcasts. Since you are thumping on it, pop it open and start reading at ACTS. TP?, They are basically full of shit and, yes, therefore I am afraid of ignorant people. the rights of women (reproductive, societal), minorities, the less fortunate are all given short shrift. True enough. Bible thumping just screams ignorance. You are, however, correct, "God" is all over the place. Not a Space Wizard, keeping track of how bright your lipstick is, or if you have prurient thoughts, but a God which flows through and is all things in and to all, without constraints of time, space, distance, etc. To think that this force has any real interest in taking sides on our political subdivisions, invading helpless shithole countries, bombing, starving, killing, stealing gas and oil from each other, allowing an entire continent to be decimated by HIV-- is nonsense. The interest is in your heart. Our collective hearts are not where the New Testament or any true religion would have us. The imbecility of the TP is melting, under the glare of the lights.
